This whisky is our whole reason for being. After visiting Islay in the southern Hebrides off Scotland, famous for its peaty maritime drams, we realised that Flinders Island also had, in abundance, the elements to create an island-produced whisky that would speak of its maritime environment. Some of our first barrels laid down years ago were filled with spirit distilled from 100% Flinders Island peated grain.

There were only three of these magic 20l casks from Tasmanian Cask Company, filled with spirit from malt that Damien had peated in minute batches in the first version of the Mobile Malt Kiln. Vanilla and earthy dark sugar on the nose, palate is bright and spicy, showing characters of cinnamon and smoke. This whisky takes dilution well, with more of the peat profile coming out at lower ABV. Finish is very chewy and had great length.
